How To Hold Your Guitar Pick
In this lesson, I am going to discuss how to hold your guitar pick.This is the way I was shown by my guitar teacher when I started taking lessons. I had been holding the guitar pick wrong for years since I tried self-teaching myself for quite a while before I broke down to get real guitar lessons. When I started learning guitar, we didn’t have cool websites like this or even YouTube. Yep, I’m totally dating myself now.

In this video, I will also discuss some different types of picks. Picks are very personal. They come in various materials and thicknesses. Over time, you will choose which pick feel most comfortable for you and your playing style. I will let you know some of my recommendations for beginner players as well as talk about the types of guitar picks I like to use in my playing. I’m a huge fan of Dunlop picks and I recommend buying their variety pack to get a feel for what you like.
